Privacy & Confidentiality
Confidentiality
Your engagement in therapy, including all discussions and materials created during our sessions, is treated with strict confidentiality. Information will only be disclosed with your explicit consent. During the intake process, we will review a client agreement that details how your privacy is upheld during sessions, the personal information maintained on file, and the circumstances under which I may be legally obligated to share information, or if there is a potential risk to your safety or that of others.
CATA Standards of Practice - Starting Therapy (A.3), and Informed Consent
A.3 At the beginning of the client-therapist relationship, Art Therapists must discuss and explain to each client the rights, roles, expectations and limitations of the Art Therapy Process, as well as the fact that there is a C.A.T.A. Ethics Committee complaint procedure.

Anyone under the age of 13 years requires the consent of a parent or caregiver to attend therapy.

If you're 14-18 years old, you can contact me for art therapy without parental consent (see the mature minor policy). Your session content remains confidential unless there's a safety concern. If referred by an organization needing monthly summaries, we'll discuss information to share.
